Evil Dead Rise Movie Analysis:Â
‘Evil Dead’ is one of the top series in the horror category of world cinema. In the 80s and 90s, the ‘Evil Dead’ movies took the whole world by storm. The first Hollywood horror movie seen by many of those born in the 90s (90s Kids) is ‘Evil Dead’. This series has achieved so much success. And the content, horror, and thrills of the latest movie are at that level?

The screenplay of the movie is very racy throughout. Not a single unnecessary scene, not even a shot. This screenplay has been written in such a gripping way. Since the length of the movie is only 97 minutes, using words like first half and second half is unnecessary here. The first 20 minutes are spent introducing the characters. Once it takes a horror turn the screenplay runs. When the mother dies and turns into a ghost and tries to kill the children, Pinni takes responsibility for them and tells them that I will take care of you as a mother is emotionally ripe.
But in terms of horror, Evil Dead Rise is a bit behind. Jump scare scenes are very important for horror movies. But in the whole movie ‘Evil Dead Rise’, such scenes are not even counted on fingers. Only one and two are there. For those who have seen the old ‘Evil Dead’ movies, it is not difficult to imagine what will happen in this one. The screenplay should have been written with little imagination. Only then will the audience get a real kick out of horror.
Â
And in what respect has ‘Evil Dead Rise’ achieved more than the old ‘Evil Dead’ series of movies? This is a punchy dialogue that is often heard in Telugu movies of yesteryear, ‘Raktham erulai parahinai!’ Director Lee Cronin seems to have taken it very seriously. Tanks of blood will continue to flow on the screen. This one has almost twice as much blood as any other movie you’ve ever seen combined.
In a scene before the climax, it looks as if the blood is coming from the screen and under the audience’s seat and under the legs. Hollywood director Quenton Tarantino is at the forefront of showing violence and bloodshed. But there is no such blood in his movies. No matter how gripping the scene is on screen, this unnecessary bloodshed feels like ‘Hey what’s up’.Â

If there are scenes with a lot of blood, the director must have thought that they were horror scenes. But even those who are used to violent movies will definitely feel a little irritated and impatient after seeing the bloodshed in this movie. It would have been better if a little care had been taken in this matter.
Background music by Stephen McKeon is a big plus point for the movie. The sound design also took the scenes to the next level. Dave Garbett’s cinematography captures the mood brilliantly. The credit goes to the cinematographer if the entire movie was shot almost in one house but it didn’t feel boring.
And when it comes to the actors… Alyssa Sutherland appeared in different shades of roles as a mother who wants to protect children and a demon who kills the same children. Especially the expressions given by him in the role of ghost are frightening. Lily Sullivan is brilliant as the older sister, who needs to protect the children but also faces the devil. All other actors have done justice to their roles.
Overall… fans of the ‘Evil Dead’ franchise, those who like horror and violent movies can watch this movie once. If you are sensitive then stay away from this movie.
