Gam Gam Ganesha Movie Review: After a super success like Bimbisara, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram faced another failure in the form of Amigos. In this background, Kalyan Ram acted in the film Devil another solid success. Self-directed by Abhishek Nama, Samyukta Menon played the heroine and Malavika Nair played a pivotal role in the film. And.. let’s find out the result of the Devil movie that was released amid all these expectations through this review.

Gam Gam Ganesha Movie Story:

The daughter of the zamindar of Rasapadu village is murdered. The police arrest the landlord as the accused in this murder case. Later the case falls into the hands of Devil (Kalyan Ram), a British Secret Service agent. It is here that Naishada (Samyukta Menon) is introduced to the devil. After the investigation started in the village of Devil Raspadu.. in this case, the story goes up to a secret code that came from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. What is the link to the murder in a small village.. the defense of NIA chief Bose? Who is the key Trivarna in the story? What are the truths that finally hit the devil? Who is he fighting for in the rest of the story?

Analysis:

Most of us know the stories of Chandamama. Do you know why those stories became such a big hit? All those stories are very simple. No confusion anywhere. This success formula applies to film stories. But.., this is where the Devil movie goes off track. By making a story that is suitable for two movies into one, the movie is told like Asantham storytelling, and the Devil has become a burden for the average audience. Devil Movie starts as a drama set in the 1940s. Later it turns into a crime investigation thriller. From there it takes many turns like Swatantra, Subhash Chandra Bose, and Azad Hind Fauz. After all this, when the climax comes, the viewer gets disconnected from the movie.

All the investigation sequences in the Devil movie are handled very well. It seems that we got runs in the first off. But.., twists are revealed but the story does not move forward, it seems that the flow has been damaged by unnecessary songs. For the twist, the hero character was made without justification. With this.. the emotion was completely missing in the interval fight which was screened with high-voltage action sequences. However.., good dialogues, investigation scenes with twists, Satya comedy, Samyukta Menon’s glamor devil passed the first half.

The story span in Devil Second Off is too much. Although it seems a bit engaging that the hero is revealing each truth, half the movie is run around a code, and that is a minus. Moreover.., does this whole sequence make sense to the average viewer? Or? That is doubtful. The devil movie takes a crucial turn as the pre-climax hero’s character twist is revealed. However.. the damage has already been done. If not.. around the character of Subhash Chandra Bose.. one should appreciate the writer’s intelligence who weaved such a fictional story.

Actors Performance:

The stronger the story, the stronger the actor in Kalyan Ram comes out. This is clearly understood by Bimbisara. Now this Nandamuri hero has given his best in Devil too. Especially Kalyan Ram’s very settled acting in some scenes is impressive. The heroine Samyukta Menon, as always, is stunning in her beauty as well as her acting. After these, the character of Satya should be mentioned. Satya made good use of the little screen space given to him. The rest of the actors are all pleasing in terms of their roles.

Technical Department:

Devil Movie deserves special kudos to anyone i.e. the art department. From the sets to the smaller properties, everything looked difficult. To bring this 1940’s backdrop feel, Gandhi Nadikudikar worked hard. Sundarajan’s camera work has become easy because of this art only. And even if the songs given by Harsha Vardhan Rameshwar don’t register that much, the BGM is still solid. If not.. in many scenes the background score was heard even though it was not necessary. And the less we talk about editing, the better. Last but not least, Abhishek Nama, who did not compromise as a producer, was disappointed as a director. Abhishek could not deal with a big story.
